Informative and Funny!
“We recently attended Countryfile Live where we saw your sheep, dog and duck show. I found both very informative and funny which made it more memorable, in fact, for us your show was the highlight of the weekend.
So thank you very much.“

Great Show and Book
“Hi Stu, great to see you again we so admire watching you work at the shows, the book was fabulous! Very much looking forward to getting a copy of the next book by Chantal.
P.S. we mastered the shepherds whistle!”

Best yet!
“Saw the great Dog and Duck show at the Henley Show at Hambledon yesterday. It was the most entertaining, interesting, informative and enjoyable experience. It gave such an incite into the training of the sheep dogs to round up the running ducks, done so calmly and kindly and totally right for your household pet!
The ducks were so funny, attempting ‘breakouts’ round the ring, giving the dogs and the occasional spectator quite a workout and finally the calm handler ‘stayed’ the dogs and quietly called all his ducks to follow him into their travel crate…….which they did!”

Inspiring Show!!!
“Dear Stuart, this is most unlike me but I feel compelled to email you and thank you for a most amusing, but more importantly inspiring, Dog & Duck session my husband & I witnessed this afternoon. We were spellbound by your ‘masterclass’. Everything you said seemed so obvious and made perfect sense yet seems to have eluded so many dog owners.
It is our hope in the future to re-home a dog but I can assure you that even before we start looking we will read your book. We owe it to the dog!
Thank you for your humour and for sharing your knowledge in such a user friendly way.
Now rest your voice!”
— Kind regards, Jane Norris

Thank You
“I had the pleasure of briefly meeting you at the recent Countryfile Live at Castle Howard. I was purchasing your book at the time and I have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
As a dog owner (Black Lab and a deaf Dalmatian) I’m always enjoyed listening to you at your demonstrations. I’ve been lucky enough to see you twice at the school countryside day at the Harrogate Showground and was pleased to see you Countryfile too.
Your philosophy and training techniques have struck a chord with me, and although I don’t work my dogs I do find great value in what you have to say. It was an interesting contrast to watch you last weekend then see the Phillipa Williams gundog display, that’s for sure.
Seeing your appear on Countryfile on TV on Sunday was great because I was able to share that with others and say “this is the guy I was telling you about!”
— Best Regards, Dave

A privilege to hear you speak
“Hi Stuart, it was a privilege to meet you briefly today to sign my book The Way of The Dog, and an absolute honour to watch you work your beautiful collies, and to listen to you explain dog behaviour and language, as to me a vet nurse, who runs fear free consults I know I’m saying the right thing….my partner said …he sounds like you….so I’m chuffed to bits we think alike.
I know your book will be a firm favourite in my daily work… if you ever do courses on dog behaviour please please let me know and I will be there soaking up every word. I may even contact you regarding cases if I’m completely stumped.
Keep spreading the message regarding children and dogs, so much more needs to be done there, hopefully people will take on board what you have said.”
— Kindest regards, Linda McNulty

Brilliantly informative
“Saw you at Newbury and loved not only the way you managed your charges, but the way you involved the audience, particularly the children. I am sure some of them (those who are old enough to relate their experience) will be talking of it for some time to come. It certainly is something we won’t forget!”

Thank you for an amazing presentation
“Just wanted to say how much me and my two sons loved your dog and duck show at the Bath and West Show. You talk so much sense and watching you work the three dogs was a pleasure and joy to watch. You have such an understanding that modern dog trainers don’t have. I took on board your point of eye contact and being in front of the dog to positively correct a behaviour. I used this on a walk with my four dogs. They were all running everywhere, so I got in front and calmly got them all back and waiting, then turned and walked on and not one passed me till I released them; three Jack Russell’s and a Lab cross. One of the jacks is a nervous girl, only a year old, but always been nervous so I was always a jumpy owner. If another dog came near I would tighten the lead or pick her up, but now have tried keeping lead loose and got in front so she looked at me and let the other dog walk by. She was quiet and just concentrated on me with a loose lead, with lots of treat rewards. I have been to these so-called force free trainer, but none have ever been of any help, but your simple explanation made such sense and it works! Do you ever do training day as I would love to learn more as I have been looking for a course on behaviour but can’t find one that doesn’t start dogs don’t understand dominance and are not pack animals which seems mad to me. I have worked with horses, cows, sheep, pigs and bird and all need clear boundary and a strong leader to show them what’s right and wrong using body language and your voice. I have your book and hope to start reading it soon. Once again thank you for an amazing demonstration.”

-
One of the best displays on dog psychology & training I’ve seen!
“I saw this guy at Peterborough yesterday, probably one of the best displays on dog psychology & training I’ve seen! Lots of humour too, very “Steve Irwin-esque”! Highly recommend.”

Great family fun
“Today we saw the Dog and Duck show at the Royal Lancashire Show. Stuart’s high energy and passion is reflected in the relationship he has with the animals he works with. The shows are educational, informative and most entertaining.
There was lots of laughter as Stuart engages with all age groups. Thank you Stuart, you made our day an exceptionally happy one.”

-
Absolutely fantastic show
“Caught the dog and duck show at Blakemere today, absolutely fantastic. Never seen 3 dogs working together using separate commands and to keep it all running smooth? Amazing. You all should try and see this guy work with animals, he’s obviously dedicated his life to it. Nice to see that given the way the world is today. Thank you very much, enjoyed it.”

Amazing guy and great book!
“Amazing guy with the most interesting life. I think he is a person who truly understands animals. I saw him at the Bath and West Show and thought he was great.
Loads of respect for this gentleman.”

-
Epic Show
“I would just like to pass on my congratulations to an epic show that you performed this afternoon at Morden Hall Park!
It was SO refreshing to see and hear the explanation of our dogs and how they see us, rather than the other way round!
Keep up the good work and educate more of the general public as you go.”

The most informative, passionate, funny and educationally gifted man I’ve seen since the late great Steve Irwin
“I had the enormous pleasure of watching this amazing man in action today at the New Forest Show… the most informative, passionate, funny and educationally gifted man I’ve seen since the late great Steve Irwin…
And that is a comparison I do not use lightly…”
-
The man who understands the animal kingdom
“His show is great for all the family, describes and demonstrates body language and positivity.
The interaction between himself and the animals is mesmerizing and I never grew bored of it. I could watch all day if time allowed.
So when you see him at a show near to you, go and watch him in action. You won’t be disappointed.”
-
Great entertainment
“I saw the Dog and Duck Show at Kent County Show, and of course was entertained, but beyond that Stuart’s commentary and demonstration gave a real insight into the dogs perspective. When you understand how wild dogs hunt you begin to understand much more about the way your own canine friend behaves. I think everyone with ambitions to own a dog should be taught the principles Stuart puts forward before obtaining their pet. It would lead to happier dogs, happier owners and less worry among those who are not into dogs.”

Best Country Fare segment I have ever seen!
“Saw the show today at the Cambridge Country show. The perfect mix of entertainment and education – this is the best Country fare segments I have ever seen (I’ve seen my share!). Stuart, incredibly engaging and funny performance, you even managed to control the wild mob of kids who rushed into the ring! Great job.”

Very Enjoyable Show
“Very enjoyable show and performance at this weekend’s All About Dogs at Newbury.
Absolutely adored the dogs and having the chance to meet them in between shows, and heard nothing but good remarks from others watching the show.
Great show.”

You are a Dog Whisperer
“Brilliant demo today at Millbrook RSPCA Fair…you are a dog whisperer, and quite amusing too….well worth a trip to see this show….all with rescued sheep dogs.”

The kids and I could've watched you all day.
“Brilliant talk/show today at Myerscough. The kids and I could’ve watched you all day. you’re brilliant at keeping everyone engaged (as well as dog training obviously) Well done. Hope you’re there again next year.”

Utterly entertaining and different
“I got to see the Dog and Duck Show 3 separate times over the course of the day. I have to say that each show was utterly entertaining and different. The dialogue between act and dog, act and crowd was great. I learned a couple of new tricks for my dogs and I would certainly recommend the show to anyone. Thanks again.”
-
Very impressed
“Really enjoyed your display on Sunday at The Lambeth Country Show. Your control over the dogs in a very instinctive rather than strict/aggressive way was very compelling. The method/approach you encourage is way more intuitive than any I’ve encountered before and seems to contain the solution to mastering our dog in a way that she is/will be comfortable with and accepting of. Very impressed and I will be buying a few copies of your book for family and friends.”

Thank you!
“I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you.
My husband and I have done your energy/body language advice most days for just a few minutes since then and we have 2 MUCH happier and calmer and more secure dogs. It’s amazing how much more peace there is in our house now. I’m sure we’re not ‘there’ yet, but we’ll keep it up and hope for the best.
Thank you. Your simple advice has made a big difference!!”

He is a real showman but more than that, he displays a love and understanding for the animals he works with that earns my respect.
“I was really pleased to see the return of Stuart Barnes at the Hadleigh show. He is a real showman but more than that he displays a love and understanding for the animals he works with that earns my respect.
I have never owned pets of any kind and I don’t rush to stroke cats and dogs but I am enthralled watching and having explained the behaviour of his sheepdogs. While entertaining, and the ducks always are, we humans might learn something of the discipline shown when handled in the right way.”
Best Wishes
